Unai Emery could achieve Aston Villa feat that hasn’t been seen since Brian Little’s reign vs West Ham
Aston Villa are set to travel to West Ham on Sunday as they look to secure back-to-back wins at the London Stadium.
Unai Emery’s side made it eight consecutive wins in all competitions on Thursday after they beat Basel 2-1 in the Europa League.
Now, they are looking to continue their run in the Premier League as they prepare to face a West Ham side struggling near the bottom of the table.
The London Stadium has been a tough place for the Birmingham outfit for many years. However, Emery will be looking to end this trend once and for all come Sunday.

Aston Villa aiming to secure consecutive away wins over West Ham for first time since 1996
In recent years, Aston Villa have routinely struggled when travelling to West Ham.
Between August 2012 and March 2024, the Birmingham outfit were winless when going away to the East London side in the Premier League, a run that lasted nine matches.
However, Villa did manage to beat West Ham 2-1 at the London Stadium last season to finally end this dire trend.
- Aston Villa have traditionally struggled away at West Ham
- However, this curse was ended last season with a 2-1 win
- Now, Emery will be aiming to repeat this trick on Sunday
Now, according to BBC Sport, if Emery’s side manages to beat the Hammers again on Sunday, it will be the first time that they have achieved back-to-back wins at West Ham since 1996.
This was when Brian Little’s Villa beat them 2-0 thanks to goals from Ugo Ehiogu and Dwight Yorke.
This would no doubt be some feat, and Emery will be eager to achieve this, and hopefully, it will give him and his side some extra motivation.

The Hammers are also on their worst points total since the 2017-18 campaign as they currently sit 18th in the table, two points off safety.
