Wolves figure hails ‘world class’ Boubacar Kamara as Aston Villa claim bragging rights again

Wolves head coach Rob Edwards was full of praise for Boubacar Kamara and his Aston Villa performance on Sunday.

Aston Villa beat Wolves 1-0 at Villa Park to claim bragging rights in another crucial Premier League win.

To make it even sweeter, Aston Villa have kept Wolves on just a mere two points as their West Midlands rivals remain without a win after 13 games.

Kamara‘s stunning strike was the difference and has fired the Villans into fourth place following the conclusion of gameweek 13.

The Frenchman’s performance was much more than just his “world-class” goal, and the statistics prove why.

Rob Edwards calls Boubacar Kamara a ‘brilliant player’

Kamara has been fantastic for Villa already this season and seems to be emerging as one of Unai Emery‘s most important players.

The midfielder was simply everywhere against Wolves, and set an example for the other Aston Villa players.

Kamara completed 85 per cent of his passes and was constantly looking to win the ball back for Villa and distribute it forward.

The Villans were in desperate need of a moment of magic in the game, and thankfully for them, Kamara provided that with his second-half strike.

Wolves boss Edwards has now seen out his second game in charge of the club, and thought that Kamara ran the show against his side.

Edwards said, as quoted by John Townley: “A world-class finish from a brilliant player. That holding midfielder is a pretty good player.”

However, a congested winter period is around the corner, and with games coming thick and fast, the midfielder’s minutes need to be monitored.

Kamara should be rested in the Europa League

Villa are doing well in the Europa League at the moment and find themselves as high as third in the table.

Kamara has played in all five of Villa’s European games this campaign, but that needs to be altered considering how well the Villans are doing in the competition.

Emery will likely guide Aston Villa to automatic progression to the knockout stages, so another player may need to step in to rest his star man

Lamare Bogarde has proved his quality and came on for Kamara in the 88th minute against Wolves.

He should be given the nod in Villa’s remaining group stage games.
