Aston Villa talks already underway over Youri Tielemans agreement after double deal
Aston Villa have been told that they must attempt to extend Youri Tielemans at all costs.
The Villans signed the versatile midfielder from Leicester City in 2023.
Tielemans has since become an important player for Villa and a regular starter under Unai Emery.
Both Morgan Rogers and John McGinn recently extended at Villa, and there’s a growing feeling that the midfielder, whose contract ends in 2027, could be next.

Aston Villa would be ‘foolish’ not the extend Youri Tielemans
Tielemans spent part of the season on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury.
However, Tielemans has since returned to the Villa fold and has reminded fans why he’s such a valued player at Villa Park.
Indeed, these last couple of seasons have seen the versatile midfielder take on the form of his life and speaking exclusively to Villa News, former Aston Villa scout Bryan King believes it would be “foolish” for Villa not to extend Tielemans.
“I would anticipate that they’ve already started speaking to him. I would certainly think that they will try and get something in place,” King said.
“He’s 28, and he’s got a minimum of four good years ahead of him still if he stays fit. With his experience both internationally and at club level, I’d certainly be looking to keep him.

“He’s been an essential part of Aston Villa’s revival as such in the last few years, and he’s been a driving force in midfield. I think it would be foolish if they didn’t try and extend his deal.”
Youri Tielemans continues to show his class at Aston Villa
Tielemans has scored eight goals and provided 20 assists for the Villans since arriving at Villa Park.
Despite his injury-ridden start to the season, the central midfielder’s talent was on full display upon his return.
- Tielemans has provided two assists this season
- He has made 1.3 key passes per game
- He has 0.91 expected assists
Furthermore, the versatile ace has won 57 per cent of his duels and 80 per cent of his dribbles have been successful, according to Sofascore.
With such consistency, it would be a shame for him not to remain at Villa Park for the long haul.
