Wolves will run scared as Aston Villa extend sensational record vs Young Boys
Unai Emery has made Villa Park a fortress this season.
Donyell Malen starred in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, a result that lifted the Villans to third in the competition.
While Malen has made headlines for Villa, the work that Emery has put in to build an impressive home record cannot go understated.
And that could prove pivotal this weekend in an all-West Midlands showdown with Wolves.

Aston Villa extend unbeaten home streak
Villa’s triumph over Young Boys means that Emery’s side have lost just one of their last 30 home games in all competitions.
This is an astonishing feat which speaks to the tactical genius of Emery.
The Villans are often dominant while at home, which was the case against Young Boys.
- Villa held 60 per cent possession against Young Boys
- The Villans accumulated 2.19 expected goals
- They took 19 shots and created six big chances
Furthermore, eight of these shots were on target, and 11 came from inside the box, according to Sofascore.
Under Emery, even the best teams in the world are afraid to play at Villa Park which is a real boost for his silverware hopes.
It is an impressive record to have, and one that the team will hope is sustained throughout the season.

Aston Villa have huge advantage against Wolves
Villa will host Wolves at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
After a difficult start to the season, the Villans are currently fourth in the league and are determined to advance their position.
Wolves, on the other hand, are rock bottom in the competition, having failed to win a single away game this season.
With new manager Rob Edwards at the helm, the Villans should expect a different side to the struggling Premier League team. Indeed, Wolves are still winless in the first division this season and will no doubt be searching for their first win of the season.
But given their poor away record, Villa should feel confident about extending their own feat on Sunday.
