Aston Villa can inflict humiliating club record on Wolves in showdown at Villa Park
Aston Villa are set to face Wolves on Sunday as they look to continue their fantastic Premier League form.
Unai Emery’s side have shot up the table in recent weeks, winning six of their last seven league matches.
Their 2-1 victory over Leeds on the weekend has seen them move up to fourth as they look to return to the Champions League.
Now, on Sunday, they welcome Wolves to Villa Park, who have had one of their worst starts to a season of all time.

Wolves could go on their longest Premier League winless run with defeat to Aston Villa
Going into the match, Wolves are rock bottom of the Premier League, with just two points from 12 games.
While Rob Edwards has now taken charge at Molineux, relegation looks inevitable, with the Old Gold side nine points from safety with a terrible goal difference.
- Wolves have picked up just two points this season
- They are currently 19 points behind Villa in fourth
- Edwards is set to take charge of his first away match at Villa Park since being appointed Wolves manager
As it stands, Wolves are the only side without a league win in England’s top six division this season in what has been a miserable campaign to date.
Now, Emery can pile on the misery if they can get a result on the weekend.
According to BBC Sport on 27 November, Wolves are currently on a run of 16 Premier League matches without a win, with their current club record being 17.
Therefore, if Aston Villa pick up at least a point against Edwards’ side, they can ensure that this terrible record is matched.

If the Birmingham outfit can pull this off, they will no doubt humiliate Wolves further, especially if it is combined with a big victory.
Aston Villa’s record against Wolves
Aston Villa have a contrasting record against Wolves.
Since getting back into the Premier League, both sides have won six out of 12 league meetings, showcasing how close the clashes usually are.
Villa have often struggled at home as well, winning just three of their last 11 league meetings at Villa Park.
With Wolves also winning the last encounter 2-0 at Molineux, Emery will be looking to get revenge on Sunday.
