Agent lines up midfielder’s move to Aston Villa, he’s wowed Jack Grealish this season

Aston Villa could lean on the words of Jack Grealish as the January transfer window nears.

Grealish was linked to a Villa return over the summer as his time at Manchester City came to an end, four years after his Villa Park exit.

A deal never went through in B6, and Grealish instead joined Everton on loan and has gone on to have a positive stint on Merseyside.

The Villans have already faced off with their former skipper, with Grealish playing against Villa for Everton back in September.

Villa could now complete a transfer swoop for a Grealish favourite as they prepare for the winter market to open in just over a month.

James Garner’s agent pushing for Aston Villa move

James Garner has been linked with a move to the Midlands as his contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium ticks down towards its summer expiry.

A midfield addition could be on the cards in claret and blue this summer, with Villa already reportedly interested in Mateo Guendouzi.

The Everton man could prove to be a wise signing, with a cut-price deal potentially on the cards with just months remaining on his current deal.

Former Villa scout Bryan King isn’t sold on Garner’s links to Villa Park, suggesting that his agent is pulling the strings with the hope of landing a new deal with the Toffees.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “They’ve done one deal with Everton recently in taking Onana.

I would imagine that if the signs are there that Everton would be prepared to let him go, then Villa would make a move.

I can’t see [David] Moyes letting him go. I think this might be a bit of agent talk. I would imagine the agent might have put the feelers out because a new contract might be in the offing.

If Everton were smart, then they would snap up the clause, and make that one-year extension into a two-year with another option to extend.

What has Jack Grealish said about Garner at Everton?

The former Manchester United man could prove a superb piece of business for the Villans, thanks to his Premier League experience and versatility.

Garner has featured in midfield and as a right and left-back under Moyes, something which would likely appeal to Unai Emery this winter.

His qualities on the ball have helped him pick up three goal involvements this season, with one coming off the back of a Grealish assist.

The ex-Villa star was blown away by the 24-year-old as he took to Instagram to react to his stunning goal against Brighton.

He said: “Oooo top brother.

Grealish clearly rates the midfielder, and it could be the seal of approval that sells Villa fans on his signing in January.
