Supercomputer predicts Aston Villa vs Young Boys Europa League result

Aston Villa have been backed to beat Young Boys at Villa Park in the Europa League on Thursday.

It was a positive weekend as Villa beat Leeds United 2-1 at Elland Road on Sunday, with a brace from Morgan Rogers seeing Unai Emery’s team come from behind to secure the three points.

The Villans have now won nine of their last 11 games across all competitions, in what has been a remarkable turnaround by Emery’s men.

Last time out in the Europa League, Villa beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-0, with Ian Maatsen and Donyell Malen netting for the home side.

Villa are predicted to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages with ease, as Emery aims to close in on a fifth title won in the competition.

Villa landslide favourites vs Young Boys

Thursday’s game will likely give Emery the chance to rotate his squad, with the Spaniard hoping to continue Villa‘s drive towards the Premier League‘s top three.

The Villans will play Wolves in the West Midlands derby on Sunday, and will hope to go into the clash off the back of an encouraging win.

Premier League fixtures then increase in difficulty once again, with trips to Brighton and West Ham surrounding the visit of Arsenal at the start of December.

But Villa will be confident going into Thursday’s match, with Opta‘s supercomputer giving them a massive chance of taking the three points.

Emery’s men have been given a huge 82 per cent chance of winning at Villa Park, with the visitors holding a measly six per cent chance of causing an upset.

The supercomputer has attributed an 11 per cent chance of the scores ending level on 27 November.

Villa cannot afford complacency

Despite the supercomputer’s overwhelming confidence in a Villa win on Thursday, Emery cannot let complacency seep into his team.

The Swiss side sits second in their Super League, having won seven of their opening 14 games of the season.

And there have been positive results for Gerardo Seoane’s team in Europe, beating Ludogorets and FCSB in matchdays two and three.

The danger men are undoubtedly Chris Bedia and Christian Fassnacht, who have scored 24 goals between them so far this season.

The former arrived on loan from Union Berlin in the summer, and will have to be watched closely by the likes of Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa.
