Morgan Rogers magical, 4/10 with another stinker – Aston Villa player ratings vs Leeds United
Aston Villa came back to win 2-1 against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday, thanks to a fantastic second-half display.
It was a terrible start for Aston Villa when Lukas Nmecha took the lead early on in controversial fashion.
However, Unai Emery’s side got themselves back into the match in the second half through Morgan Rogers’ acute flick inside the box.
Rogers then doubled his tally and gave Villa the lead with fantastic free-kick with 15 minutes to play.
While the visitors were given a scare when Daniel James put the ball into the net, the goal was disallowed as Villa earned three points.

Morgan Rogers rescues Aston Villa
The goalscorer for Aston Villa, Rogers found the net yet again for Emery’s side.
It was a great finish from the England international, in what was almost an impossible angle to find the net.
Villa needed an early goal after Leeds’ dominant performance in the first half, and Rogers stepped up to ensure this would happen.
Then, his second was magical, firing a free-kick up and over the wall to ensure Villa came away with three points.

On top of his goals, Rogers had a fantastic game, with Fotmob on 23 November highlighting that the attacker completed the most dribbles in the match at four, with a 57 per cent success rate
Hopefully, the England international can continue this form going forward.
Emi Martinez let Aston Villa down again
Emi Martinez was already one of the most error-prone goalkeepers in the Premier League, and this trend continued against Leeds.
It seemed a simple catch for the goalkeeper up against Anton Stach. Yet, he made a complete mess of it, which gave Leeds confidence for the rest of the first half.
It would take until the second half for Villa to finally get themselves back into the game, something that could have been prevented if Martinez had just done his job.
Martinez also only completed 17 per cent of his long balls, topping off what was a bad game from the goalkeeper

While Martinez is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, he simply has to cut out these consistent errors before it costs Villa further.
