Jadon Sancho is finished at Aston Villa after what Stan Collymore noticed vs Leeds United
Jadon Sancho’s difficult start to life continued at Aston Villa despite Unai Emery’s men securing a 2-1 win over Leeds United.
Sancho joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, seeing a switch to B6 as a chance to get his career back on track.
But the Englishman has struggled to force his way into Unai Emery’s plans, and he’s only been handed 110 minutes of action in the Premier League.
22 of those minutes came on Sunday afternoon as Aston Villa came from behind to beat Leeds United thanks to an incredible Morgan Rogers brace.
It was an opportunity for the Englishman to impress at Elland Road, although he produced another anonymous display.

Jadon Sancho slammed by Stan Collymore vs Leeds United
Sancho was recently praised for his performance against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League, showcasing his dangerous fleet-footed dribbling down the left wing.
Sadly, the 25-year-old failed to impress in a 19-minute cameo as Aston Villa beat Bournemouth 4-0 before the international break, and it was a similar story in West Yorkshire.
Jadon Sancho stats vs Leeds United
22 minutes played
0 shots
0 dribbles
0 tackles
11 touches
10/11 accurate passes (91%)
Coming off the bench with their result hanging in the balance, Emery would have wanted the United loanee to demonstrate his attacking threat, something they’ve rarely seen during his time at the club.
Instead, Sancho didn’t register a single shot, complete a dribble or make a tackle in 22 minutes on the pitch, while Stan Collymore also went in on the attacker in an X-rated rant.
“******* bottled going for the ball on the halfway line, which lead to a Leeds chance,” Collymore wrote on X.
Sancho has never been known for getting stuck in, and after backing out of a challenge against Leeds, he was rightfully criticised.
Why Sancho is struggling to start
In Emery’s system, the Spaniard needs his wingers to track back and protect their teammates, but Sancho’s work ethic is low.
That is why the likes of Donyell Malen and Emi Buendia are preferred in attack, with his position on the left flank being taken by other players.
For Sancho to actually become a success at Aston Villa, he must follow in Marcus Rashford’s footsteps, after his Villa Park loan ended with a switch to Barcelona.
Though, much like Rashford, perhaps Sancho’s time in English football is coming to an end as Dortmund continue to monitor him.
