Aston Villa may have next West Brom talent lined up after international heroics

Aston Villa have a history of signing young stars from West Brom.

Villa and West Brom are local rivals and have faced off in several feisty encounters over the years in both the Premier League and the Championship.

There is a positive relationship between the sides behind the scenes, as Samuel Iling-Junior’s loan move from Villa to West Brom in the summer is an example.

Villa also sent Lewis Dobbin to West Brom last season as the long-standing trend of moves between the two continues.

The Villans have mainly benefited from this arrangement, having signed some of the Baggies’ best young talents over the year and could be set to strike again.

Aston Villa regularly steal young talents from West Brom

The Villans have historically backed academy talent, hoping to introduce them into the first-team setup at Villa Park.

Ben Broggio is the brightest option for Villa right now, having featured in many first-team matchday squads after making his senior debut last season.

The local lad may have not signed from West Brom, but the claret and blue outfit does feature a large number of former Albion starlets.

Most recently, Keilan Quinn has come in from The Hawthorns to become the latest in a long line to swap B71 for B6.

Many of these names have already moved on from Villa Park, but Jimoh-Aloba and Triston Rowe still represent potential assets for the future.

Even academy manager Mark Harrison has moved to Bodymoor Heath, playing a key role in bringing these talents across the Midlands.

The Villans could look to make yet another controversial move happen in an upcoming transfer window after what Idrissa Dauda Amilhere has done away from The Hawthorns.

Aston Villa could move for Idrissa Dauda Amilhere at West Brom

Amilhere is up there with one of the brightest talents at The Hawthorns right now and has made his first-team debut at just 17 years old.

There is clear faith in the midfielder, and with a poor start under Ryan Mason, there is every chance that he could be handed more opportunities moving forward.

The 2008-born ace has also made his presence felt on the international stage, with the Baggies youngster a regular for Italy’s youth sides.

Amilhere has linked up with Italy under-17s for the World Cup and now finds himself in the semi-final after scoring a decisive goal in the quarter-final against Uzbekistan.

That is bound to have caught the eye of a wide range of club sides, but Villa could use their West Brom link to sign the midfielder should he leave The Hawthorns.
