Aston Villa ready to pay £17m fee to sign highly sought-after Real Madrid star
Aston Villa have contacted Real Madrid about the future of 21-year-old striker Gonzalo Garcia.
Unai Emery saw several players depart for international duty after Villa’s 4-0 home win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Despite a difficult start, the Villans have been excellent in the Premier League and entered the final break of the year sixth in the table.
However, Villa are still keen to arm Emery with reinforcements as they look to reach new heights.

Villa table £17.6million for Gonzalo Garcia
Villa are interested in signing Garcia, who impressed spectators with his FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
- Garcia scored four goals and provided one assist in six games
- He has since played just 108 minutes for Madrid in all competitions
- He is contracted with the White club until 30 June 2030
The Villans are one of three Premier League sides willing to offer £17.6million to secure his services, according to Fichajes.
The other clubs include Wolves and Sunderland, who also want Garcia to strengthen their respective squads.
Madrid are a possible stumbling block in negotiations and have not yet decided how to handle any interest in Garcia over the winter.
The White club are aware of his potential, but the idea of selling him and investing in the transfer window appeals to them.

As a result, Sunderland and Wolves are not the only barriers the Villans will need to overcome to bring Garcia to Villa Park.
What could Goncalo Garcia bring to Villa?
Villa are in desperate need of new attacking recruits, and Garcia could be the perfect addition.
Ollie Watkins has had a difficult start to Villa’s season, netting just one goal in 11 appearances in the Premier League.
For reference, the England international scored 16 goals last season and 19 goals the year before. Villa will need to have a suitable back-up for Watkins if he’s on the decline.
Furthermore, Garcia’s age makes him an attractive option for Villa. At 21, he’s not too young that he’ll need a lot of time to adapt, but he’s young enough for Villa to enjoy some of his best years.
Even if he opts to leave Villa Park after a couple of years, he’s talented enough for the Villans to collect a decent return on their investment.
Therefore, Garcia is a fantastic option for Villa from both a sporting and financial perspective.
