Aston Villa stars will turn out in Wolves colours next season as ridiculous Adidas news leaks

Adidas look set to let Aston Villa down with black and gold kits next season.

Villa had significant issues with Castore kits before they eventually parted ways and formed a partnership with the German-based manufacturer ahead of last season.

There were financial benefits for Villa to sign with Adidas, and supporters have turned out in their droves to purchase the latest shirts.

The Villans have already had some amazing moments in Adidas kits, with Villa’s 3-2 win against PSG arguably being the most memorable.

It seems that the kit providers could sour their relationship with the Villa Park faithful as they appear set to dress the Villans in Wolves colours.

Villa supporters are largely pleased with this campaign’s shirt designs, with the Trefoil third shirt being particularly well-liked in B6.

The away kit was debuted last season as Villa lost 2-0 to Manchester United on the final day, with Villa yet to win wearing the black and light blue design.

The home attire is traditional and features swirls on the sleeve cuffs, representative of the same design that features on the Holte End.

Next season, things look to be shaken up, with the home shirt set to feature mostly claret as opposed to the usual light blue sleeves.

The issue comes with the away kit, as leaked Adidas designs have suggested that Villa could be wearing black and gold on their travels.

Wolves are recognised for the same colours and go by the nickname “Old Gold”, making this design choice all the more baffling.

Adidas know nothing about Aston Villa

The Molineux outfit look hugely likely to taste relegation this season, with Rob Edwards’ side sat bottom of the table and winless after 11 Premier League matches.

Even if that is the case, for Villa to be running around in a local rival’s colours is entirely strange.

Black and Gold work as colours and will make for a good-looking shirt, but it begs the question: Would Wolves wear a blue and claret away shirt? No, probably not.

Adidas make some excellent gear, but this could prove to be miles away from what Villa fans want to see.

It is a positive to see them trying new things, but steering clear of rival colours should be the first thing taken into account.
