Wayne Rooney makes bold Aston Villa prediction on MOTD after Bournemouth win
Wayne Rooney sees a bright future for Aston Villa after their win over Bournemouth.
Villa secured a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday as Unai Emery’s side took all three points with relative ease at Villa Park.
The Villans rode their luck at times, with Emi Martinez making a penalty save against Bournemouth that helped maintain a clean sheet in B6.
After Bournemouth changed ends at Villa Park, they created problems for themselves and arguably helped the home side secure three points.
Rooney was clearly impressed with the performance and has now predicted where he sees Villa’s season going from here.

Morgan Rogers could have been sent off against Bournemouth, and that may have changed the tide in the Midlands on the day.
That wasn’t the case, and the home side took full advantage to go on and secure a hugely positive result against a high-performing outfit.
The rest of the Premier League saw the scoreline and stood up to take notice of the Villans, especially after their frustrating start to the campaign.
Villa have turned things around and now sit just four points behind Manchester City in second, with clashes against Leeds United and Wolves coming up.

This form has prompted Rooney to speak out in glowing terms about the Villans as he provided a prediction for the season while on Match of the Day.
He said: “They started the season off not great, and they were struggling to score goals, but their recent form is excellent.
“They’ve got good players and a good fan base who get around them and push them on. They’ll be up there this season, I think the signs are really good for them.“
What did Unai Emery tell Match of the Day after Bournemouth win?
There were crazy questions of whether Emery should be facing the sack earlier in the season, but weirdly enough, that talk has gone quiet now.
The performance and result against the Cherries were representative of a side that is now fully understanding the head coach and is completely behind him.
That respect and performance levels are clearly appreciated by the Spaniard after he spoke out positively about his side in his Match of the Day interview.

He said: “The players, they were so focused [with] everything we needed to play and we needed to respond against them [Bournemouth].
“We were struggling in the second half a little bit, but we reacted fantastically as well.“
There is a long way to go this season, but if Emery can continue getting an upbeat tune out of his side, the sky could be the limit in B6.
