Ezri Konsa lined up for £30.5m+ Aston Villa exit amid scary PSR developments
Ezri Konsa is a player who could be on his way out of Aston Villa amid PSR concerns in the West Midlands.
Not only has he stood out for Aston Villa in recent years, but Konsa has also shone for England, winning his 16th Three Lions cap earlier this month when Thomas Tuchel‘s side qualified for the 2026 World Cup with a win over Latvia.
Konsa is widely expected to be called up to England’s World Cup squad next summer, but there are worries starting to emerge at Villa Park that the 28-year-old might have to be sold in order to balance the books.
Aston Villa went big on qualifying for the Champions League last season, something which they failed to achieve, leading to football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley saying there could be some big sales at Villa Park.

Ezri Konsa wanted by Manchester City and Tottenham
Aston Villa, however, only signed off on one big sale in the summer when Jacob Ramsey was sold to Newcastle for £39million.
And now, TBR Football report that Konsa is also a player who could be heading out the door at Villa.
It is understood that Manchester City and Tottenham are showing an interest in the former Brentford centre-back, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Napoli and RB Leipzig have also had their sights on him.
Konsa’s transfer value is estimated at around £30.5million by transfermarkt, but with just under three years left on his contract, the fact that he’s at the peak of his career and an established England international, you would have thought that Aston Villa would be able to demand a lot more.
Unfortunately, Villa’s PSR issues are well documented, and other clubs will know that, meaning they will have some ammunition to drive down the cost.

But as far as Konsa goes, he’s one of the best centre-backs in English football and selling him for any less than £50million would be a big injustice for Aston Villa fans.
What was Aston Villa’s net spend in the summer transfer window?
In the summer just gone, Villa were one of the few clubs to make money on transfers.
Aston Villa’s net spend for the summer was -£8m, according to Squawka, ranking them 15th in the Premier League.
Brighton had the lowest net spend of -£68.15million, while Arsenal were the biggest spenders with a net spend of £251.4million.
As well as selling Ramsey, the Villans also cashed in on Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Filip Marschall, Ethan Amundsen-Day, Leander Dendoncker and Alex Moreno in the summer.
Aston Villa’s permanent summer signings:
- Yasin Ozcan – Kasimpasa
- Zepiqueno Redmond – Feyenoord
- Marco Bizot – Brest
- Evann Guessand – OGC Nice
- Victor Lindelof – Free agent
In terms of incomings, it was rather muted from the Evann Guessand deal before Harvey Elliott and Jadon Sancho arrived on loan deals on deadline day from Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively.
Aston Villa’s loan deal for Elliott can turn into a £35m permanent buy, while Sancho, who is on a lot of money in terms of wages, is barely being used by Unai Emery.
