Andres Garcia injury recovery timeline emerges after Aston Villa radio silence

Andres Garcia hasn’t played for Aston Villa since April due to an apparent injury issue.

Villa signed Garcia from Levante last January as Monchi looked to utilise his market knowledge to bring in a potential star from the Spanish second division.

The Spaniard ultimately replaced Kosta Nedeljkovic, who then joined RB Leipzig on loan for the second half of last campaign.

Garcia performed well for Villa against Nottingham Forest, but was ultimately subbed off by Unai Emery in a game that was reflective of his career in B6.

Garcia has seriously struggled in recent months at Villa Park, as the general lack of updates continues to baffle the claret and blue faithful.

Andres Garcia injury timeline revealed

Garcia has been missing for months at Villa, with little information shared about the right-back throughout that spell.

Frustration is there based on the level he reached at times last season, especially in that 2-1 win against Forest.

He maintained a 93 per cent pass accuracy and created one chance in B6, but also chipped in with four defensive actions while winning two duels in an all-action performance.

The Spaniard was on the bench against Bologna in the Europa League, but this is his only sighting since this season began.

Until recently, Matty Cash had struggled for consistent form and had come under scrutiny from the terraces, so the ex-Levante man’s absence was a blow.

Villa’s first team right-back struggled earlier in the season after losing 75 per cent of his duels and failing to win a single tackle, so he could have benefited from dropping out.

The introduction of Garcia in a playing capacity could have benefited the Poland international in terms of direct competition.

This hasn’t been the case, as Villa fans have been kept in the dark about the defender’s continued absence.

Emery said, “Andres is injured,” when asked about him in August, which is the only true insight into his issue outside of the general radio silence.

Premier Injuries, run by Ben Dinnery, has speculated that Garcia could return for Villa on 1 November, 203 days after his last outing in claret and blue.

What games could Garcia still miss for Aston Villa?

The full-back has already been absent from 10 games this season, after going seven as an unused substitute at the end of last campaign.

This is a sizable period for a member of the Villa first-team to go without minutes, especially when European qualification is ultimately the goal.

Should his injury woes continue, it feels unlikely that a 1 November return will be on the cards, but if it is, he could feature in some capacity in the squad to face Liverpool on that date.

Upcoming Aston Villa fixtures

Garcia would then miss the prior clashes against Go Ahead Eagles and Manchester City, and could also miss others against Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bournemouth.

It will be interesting to see what he can do on his return to action in B6, but it will take plenty of time for him to find his feet again at the top level.
