Aston Villa enter race for £26m star who is a ‘perfect fit’ for Unai Emery
Unai Emery is already considering ways to strengthen his squad as Aston Villa continue to find their feet in the Premier League.
Aston Villa overcame a one-goal deficit against Tottenham to claim all three points in North London, winning 2-1 on 19 October.
The win means Emery’s side adds to their four-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, which can be traced back to Villa’s draw to Everton in September.
But with his side picking up an excellent pace in the Premier League, Emery may need a few extra parts to ensure their prolonged success this season and beyond.

Aston Villa are interested in Luis Milla
There were concerns that Morgan Rogers could leave Villa over the summer, but the possibility has been put to bed for now.
Rogers netted a screamer against Tottenham, which reinforced how important he is to this Villa side. However, Emery is still in search of some extra midfield depth.
According to Fichajes on 19 October, Villa have entered the race for Getafe midfielder Luis Milla.
It is understood that Emery believes the Spanish talent will be a “perfect fit” to strengthen his midfield.
While Getafe are hesitant to sell their star, it is thought that a £26million fee could force their hand.
- His contract runs out on 30 June 2027
- Atletico Madrid are also in the race
- Villa is considered an equally attractive destination
Keeping the pace and physical demands of the Premier League in mind, adding a creative midfielder like Milla, who is both experienced and efficient, could fit Villa like a glove.

How has Luis Milla performed this season?
The 31-year-old midfielder has started every La Liga game for Getafe, with his last full 90 being a fiery 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in which his side were down to nine men before the final whistle.
While his powers were muted against the La Liga leaders, Milla has been one of Getafe’s main creative threats this season.
In the league alone, he has created seven big chances for his team and has provided five assists. The gravity of Milla doing this for a defensive side should not be understated.
His lack of Premier League experience may be an issue, but having a creative outlet like him as a rotational option may be an offer too good for Emery to turn down.
