Gabby Agbonlahor raves about ‘immense’ player Aston Villa are in advanced talks with
Aston Villa look to be back to themselves after a patchy start to the season.
Villa lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace at Villa Park earlier in the season, summing up the troubles they faced early on in the campaign.
Performances grew so frustrating that Unai Emery was linked with a Villa exit for the first time since taking over in 2022.
The Spaniard stuck around and with a 2-1 Villa win over Burnley last time out, made it four wins from the Villans’ last four games.
Gabby Agbonlahor has been left impressed by various B6 stars on this run, but one name in particular has caught his eye.

Aston Villa stars in for praise from Gabby Agbonlahor
Villa are preparing to face Tottenham in a return to Premier League action after the October international break.
The Lilywhites will represent a true test of how far the claret and blue outfit have come after four consecutive wins in all competitions under Emery.
Winning away from home against Feyenoord in the Europa League was particularly impressive and is a feat Emery will want to replicate in North London.
Ahead of that clash, Villa Park favourite Agbonlahor has been hyping up his former side as the general football fan opinion is still largely negative.
While speaking live via talkSPORT on 17 October, the ex-England international piled praise on a trio of Villa stars.
He said: “Surprisingly, it has been a player who has done very well, Buendia. He was at Leverkusen on loan last season, he’s come back. Aston Villa were after another number 10, ended up with Harvey Elliott, but Buendia’s got that place locked down.
“Watkins looks sharper, Rogers is looking sharp as well.“
John McGinn singled out by Agbonlahor after contract talks
The Villa skipper looks destined to sign a new contract after engaging in advanced talks following a turbulent summer of links away.
Newcastle United and Everton showcased an interest in the Scotland international, but he hasn’t let that impact his form in the Midlands.
Agbonlahor has been left blown away by McGinn’s form in what has been a hugely challenging period for the Villans.

He said: “John McGinn has been immense. Honestly, during the bad run, if you ever wanted your captain to stand up and show what he’s made of, he really did.“
The 30-year-old has proven exactly why the Villa faithful love him so much and where his “super” nickname came from.
Emery has to continue in his efforts to get the best out of the Scot as he holds the keys to Villa’s success this campaign.
