Matty Cash lauded for ‘brightest’ developments after what he just did away from Aston Villa
Matty Cash was in fine form away from Aston Villa on Sunday, with the defender praised for his impact.
The Poland international has enjoyed an up-and-down campaign so far, but scored his side’s first goal of the Premier League season when Villa drew 1-1 with Sunderland.
It had been a terrible start to the season for Unai Emery‘s side, but recent weeks have seen the Spaniard’s men kick into life.
Cash was impressive for Villa against Burnley before the international break, and the 28-year-old is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up when the Villans take on Tottenham on Sunday.
It has been suggested that Villa could have upgraded on Cash in the summer, but his manager continues to back the defender.

Matty Cash among ‘brightest’ against Lithuania
Cash scored for Poland against Finland during the last international break, and the right-back has continued to impress for his nation.
On Sunday against Lithuania, the 28-year-old completed more dribbles than any other player on the pitch and won the majority of his duels in what was an impressive display.
With the 2-0 victory, Poland have taken a significant step towards World Cup qualification, likely needing just to beat bottom-of-the-group Malta in November.

Polish outlet Goal gave Cash a 4/6 rating, describing the defender as “one of the team’s brightest figures.“
“In addition to his attacking runs, he also contributed long crosses,” journalist Luka Pawlik wrote.
“Cash also unleashed a powerful shot in first-half stoppage time, which the opposing goalkeeper managed to keep out.“
Former Poland international Tomasz Hajto gave his ratings to Polsat Sport and awarded the Villa man a 6/10 rating, with Przemyslaw Pawlak agreeing with his colleague’s verdict.
Supersport were slightly harsher with their rating, giving the 28-year-old a 5.5/10 for his efforts.
Michal Skiba wrote: “One shot on target, not much progress in this game.“
Cash to hit the ground running for Villa
It has been a positive international break for Cash. The defender was rested for the friendly against Australia last week and delivered a strong performance against Lithuania.
With that in mind, the 28-year-old should be raring to go for Villa’s return to Premier League action on Sunday.
The trip to Tottenham will be hard work, and Cash will have his work cut out for him against Brennan Johnson, but in their current form, Emery’s side will not fear anyone.
