Steven Gerrard looks set to return to Rangers four years after his departure to Aston Villa.
Gerrard was sacked by Villa after a defeat against Fulham in October 2022 and is regarded as one of the worst managers in recent memory in B6.
Rangers were interested in Gerrard in 2024, but then opted against bringing the Englishman back after he left for Villa Park in 2021.
Gerrard has still emerged as a favourite to replace Russell Martin at Rangers after the ex-Southampton man faced the sack last month.
There are now questions of whether Gerrard could bring some familiar faces from the claret and blue outfit with him to Glasgow.

There wasn’t much positivity surrounding the Englishman in the Midlands, but the emergence of Tim Iroegbunam is undoubtedly a plus.
Gerrard handed the defensive midfielder his debut, but Iroegbunam left Villa for Everton over 12 months ago.
The 22-year-old has had a mixed spell with the Toffees after failing to start Premier League matches regularly on Merseyside.
Should his struggles for minutes go on under David Moyes, he may search for a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the upcoming transfer windows.
Gerrard could step in and look to bring Iroegbunam to Ibrox and reignite that relationship which began the England under-20 international’s senior career.

There haven’t been better chants on the terraces of Villa Park than that of Philippe Coutinho for many years, if only his performances had matched the quality of his song.
The Brazilian had a superb loan spell under Gerrard in B6, but seriously struggled for form after making that move permanent.
He now finds himself with Vasco da Gama, but a final link-up with his former Liverpool teammate could still be on the cards.
Rangers have never been shy about offering sizable wage packages to players, nor has Gerrard, so it could prove to be a perfect match.
In the Scottish Premiership, Coutinho would be at a different level and could be the difference maker that the Ibrox club are desperate for right now.
