Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers have just done something not seen at Aston Villa since 1931
Aston Villa have finally started to turn their season around under Unai Emery.
After going into the September international break winless and disastrous in front of goal, the Villans have won four on the bounce ahead of this two-week absence.
Despite a slow start, Ezri Konsa, Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers were all selected by Thomas Tuchel for the latest England squad.
All three started against Wales at Wembley on 9 October, and Aston Villa history occurred for the first time in almost a century within minutes in the capital.

Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers match Aston Villa greats
Rogers opened the scoring against the Welsh with his first England goal, sweeping home after a pull-back from Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.
In the 11th minute, Rogers then almost assisted Watkins across the face of goal, and he stayed onside to tap home and add to his Three Lions’ account, but Guehi was credited with the final pass.
While not an important game against near rivals, Emery will be delighted with his men, especially Rogers.

Rogers has been the one player everyone has been speaking about at Aston Villa, especially after Watkins broke his goal duck in the 3-1 win over Fulham.
The former Middlesbrough man scored 14 goals and assisted a further 13 last season in all competitions, so the difference is day and night already.

Aston Villa history emerges at Wembley
On October 17, 1931, England beat Ireland 6-2.
It was a great night for those from Villa Park, with Eric Houghton and Pongo Waring both finding the back of the net at Windsor Park.
In fact, it’s the last time that two or more Aston Villa players scored in the same England match, until now.
After both scoring, Rogers and Watkins have done something not seen for 94 years from Claret and Blue stars away from B6.

Hopefully, this goalscoring form can return to Villa Park after the break, with Bukayo Saka adding a sensational third before half-time at Wembley.
There was an injury scare for Watkins, who collided with the post towards the end of the first half, but he was able to continue initially, so let’s hope that is good news.
