Jadon Sancho has already pocketed over £1m of NSWE’s money as staggering Aston Villa details emerge

Jadon Sancho has not been one of the successes of the recent summer transfer window thus far for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa signed Sancho on a season-long loan from Manchester United after he had spent the previous season with Chelsea.

The winger was compared to Kylian Mbappe when he first burst onto the scene at Borussia Dortmund, but has failed to live up to his potential.

Despite netting for Chelsea against Real Betis in their UEFA Conference League final win, he was looking at Villa as the destination to revive his career.

While he has made a few appearances for the Villans, Sancho’s start to the season for Villa hasn’t been memorable.

Jadon Sancho has pocketed £1.4m in Aston Villa wages

Emery confirmed that Jadon Sancho was still recovering from an illness which kept him sidelined for games against Fulham and Feyenoord.

A player of Sancho’s calibre was never expected to come cheap, with Villa paying at least 80 per cent of the Englishman’s wage, according to Ben Jacobs via X on 1 September.

His loan fee and achievable bonuses mean that United remains confident of receiving full wage coverage by the end of his loan.

Sancho’s weekly wage amounts to £250,000, with a further £100,000 in potential bonuses according to Capology, totalling a base salary of £13million, which the Villans will pay well over £10.4m to finance.

If the versatile winger were to achieve his bonuses and United pay their cut, Villa would pay £280,000 on his weekly salary alone.

As a result, Sancho could have already pocketed £1.4m from the NSWE group a mere five weeks after arriving at Villa Park.

Emery could be just what Sancho needs to succeed at Villa

There is no doubt that this would seem worth it if Emery can revive his Dortmund form, but with the way Villa and the winger are performing, that hinges on a very big if.

Sancho can take inspiration from Jack Grealish at Everton

Sancho and his England teammate Jack Grealish are two sides of the same coin, both having lost their spark when transferring to a new club.

There were massive doubts on whether Grealish would be able to regain his Villa form after several disappointing seasons at Manchester City, when his loan to Everton was announced.

However, a couple of weeks down the line and the left winger is one of the best performing players in the Premier League.

The former Villa superstar is proof that all a player needs is the right manager, club and mindset to succeed at the highest level.

Therefore, Sancho’s transfer at Villa was no doubt a gamble, but he can surely take a page out of Grealish’s playbook, and Villa fans should look at their former star’s progress as a sign not to give up on the ex-Dortmund star just yet.
