Feyenoord vs Aston Villa result predicted by supercomputer

Aston Villa will look to make it three wins from three across all competitions when they take on Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday.

Unai Emery remains under pressure at Villa, but a strong week has shelved discussions over the manager’s immediate future.

Villa beat Fulham 3-1 on Sunday, in what was the Villans’ first Premier League win of the season.

Raul Jimenez had opened the scoring, but Ollie Watkins‘ chipped striker got his side back on terms before a quickfire double from John McGinn and Emi Buendia secured the win for Emery‘s side.

Buendia will likely start against Feyenoord, after the midfielder enjoyed an extremely strong showing on Sunday.

Aston Villa backed for victory vs Feyenoord

Feyenoord, managed by ex-Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, have started the season in stunning fashion.

The Dutch side are unbeaten in Eredivisie, topping the table with six wins and a draw from their opening seven games.

It was not a similar start in the Europa League, however, with Feyenoord losing to SC Braga in Portugal last week after Fran Navarro bagged a late goal.

Nonetheless, the visitors will provide a difficult challenge for Emery’s side, having scored 15 goals in the league so far this season.

Opta‘s supercomputer, however, gives Villa a strong advantage going into Thursday’s meeting.

The model has handed the Villans a 47 per cent chance of emerging victorious in the Netherlands, with a Feyenoord win given a 28 per cent chance. The supercomputer gives a 24 per cent chance of the scores ending level.

Villa will have to keep a close eye on Feyenoord gem Ayase Ueda

The danger man for Feyenoord undoubtedly comes in the form of Ayase Ueda, 27, who has bagged six goals in seven game in Eredivisie.

The Japan international was rested by Van Persie for the trip to Braga, but given the stature of Villa, the Dutchman will likely want his star forward in from the start on Thursday.

A small but powerful striker, Ueda struggled with injuries throughout last season, but has returned in extraordinary fashion.

The 27-year-old will be looking to get in behind the Villa defence, who will need to be well aware of the forward’s movement.
