Oliver Glasner can turn the tide at Aston Villa after new manager developments at Villa Park
Oliver Glasner could be the man to turn things around at Aston Villa.
It has been a rough start to the campaign at Villa Park, with the B6 club winning just one of their opening six Premier League games of the season.
Their first came as Villa beat Fulham 3-1 on Sunday, despite Raul Jimenez’s third-minute header giving Fulham the lead.
This was a much-needed result for the claret and blue outfit, representing the perfect follow-up result just days after Villa beat Bologna in the Europa League.
This may not be enough to secure the future of Unai Emery moving forward, with Glasner potentially in the pipeline to become the next head coach at Bodymoor Heath.

Oliver Glasner could transform Aston Villa
The Crystal Palace boss is arguably the hottest property in Premier League dugouts right now after a stellar spell at Selhurst Park.
Having won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with the Eagles and the Europa League at Eintracht Frankfurt, there is no doubting his qualities as a manager.
Record | Crystal Palace | Eintracht Frankfurt |
Matches | 75 | 97 |
Wins | 35 | 39 |
Draws | 22 | 29 |
Losses | 15 | 29 |
This has seen Glasner emerge as a favourite to take over at Aston Villa, should Emery move on in the near future after a tricky stint in the Midlands.
Although the potential exit of the Spaniard would be tough to take, bringing in the German would certainly be well-received.
Glasner has carried Palace to third in the Premier League this campaign, proving exactly what sort of quality the Villans would be taking on.

The 51-year-old has been famed for his 3-4-3 formation in SE25, and that is something that could be replicated well after a period of adaptation at Villa Park.
This would represent a period of change for the claret and blue outfit, although it could prove to be a superb appointment for the claret and blue outfit.
How Glasner could line up with Aston Villa
The change in manager would almost certainly result in a tactical alteration.
Emery has typically utilised a 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2 formation throughout his time in B6, something which has regularly proven to be effective.
That hasn’t truly been the case this season, and as a result, a change in head coach and approach could prove to be wise.
This is where Glasner could come in to make the most of his 3-4-3, with Villa’s squad already looking primed before any potential signings.

This could see a familiar back three represent the base of the side, with Ian Maatsen and Matty Cash potentially set to be ideal wing-back options.
Similar things could be said of Evann Guessand and Morgan Rogers as wide forwards, with the latter potentially set to replicate Ebere Eze’s output under Glasner moving forward in the Midlands.
Although no Villa fan would want to lose Emery right now, there is no getting away from the fact that the German would be an excellent alternative for many reasons.
