Feyenoord vs Aston Villa injury news as key player set to miss out on Europa League clash
Aston Villa are set for their first Europa League away day of the campaign against Feyenoord.
The Villans began their season on the continental stage in ideal fashion as Villa secured a 1-0 win over Bologna at Villa Park last time out.
This has seemingly opened the floodgates in B6, with Villa also beating Fulham in the Premier League most recently.
Unai Emery’s side are now in a much better position after a hugely frustrating start to the season, even if Villa are without star man Youri Tielemans.
There looks to be other concerns in the treatment room elsewhere as the claret and blue outfit prepare to face Feyenoord on Thursday.

Feyenoord injury blow emerges ahead of Aston Villa clash
There is no shortage of absentees in Emery’s squad right now, and that situation doesn’t truly look like it’s going to change.
Summer signing from Manchester United, Jadon Sancho, was an unused substitute against Fulham, with illness cited as a potential reason for his absence.
This could see the winger join Tielemans, Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley and Andres Garcia on the missing list.
Things aren’t any better for Robin van Persie and Feyenoord, as the former Arsenal striker now has a fresh issue to worry about before his side lines up against the Villans.
This comes after both Malcolm Jeng and Tsuyoshi Watanabe picked up injuries for the Rotterdam club in their latest win away to FC Groningen.
Speaking after that clash, Van Persie suggested that Jeng’s issue “doesn’t look good,” pointing towards a likely absence from the clash with Emery’s men.
Aston Villa must make it three wins from three vs Feyenoord
It could go from worst-case scenario to bright skies for Villa by the end of the week, should they secure a third win in as many games against the Dutch outfit.
Going back to Rotterdam will be a spectacle for the B6 club, regardless of the result, but a victory would certainly go down well, just as it did in 1982.
This would see pressure ease on Emery and certain members of his squad, something which he certainly needs after such a frustrating start to the season.
Aston Villa’s last five games (all competitions):
- Aston Villa 3-1 Fulham
- Aston Villa 1-0 Bologna
- Sunderland 1-1 Aston Villa
- Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa (4-2 on penalties)
- Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
It will be interesting to see how the Spaniard can get a positive tune out of his side in the Europa League again, especially if Feyenoord are struggling on the injury front.
