Aston Villa chief lashes out at Mark Goldbridge with four-word message

Mark Goldbridge has been called out for his views on Aston Villa.

The Villans have been discussed regularly in the media, with Unai Emery coming under pressure at Villa after a poor start to the season.

Things now look to be on the up at Villa Park after securing back-to-back wins, starting with Villa beating Bologna 1-0 in the Europa League.

A controversial Villa win against Fulham has followed, but that hasn’t necessarily improved the discourse surrounding the claret and blue outfit.

This comes after Goldbridge shared his views on social media, causing clear frustration at Bodymoor Heath.

Ahmed Elmohammady slams Mark Goldbridge at Aston Villa

Despite falling behind to a Raul Jimenez opener for Fulham at Villa Park, the home side managed to turn things around in the second half.

A quick-fire double from John McGinn and Emi Buendia put the Villans well on their way to securing a first Premier League win of the campaign.

This was just what the doctor ordered for Emery and his squad, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the Spaniard in B6.

Having gone 1-0 down so early on, there was a feeling of “here we go again” around Villa Park after the shocking start to the season.

Goldbridge picked up on this when he took to X on 28 September, saying: “What’s going on at Villa…

It is fair to say that this didn’t go down well with former Villa defender and current club ambassador, Ahmed Elmohamady, who hit back at the United Stand host.

The Egyptian slammed the presenter, hitting back by saying: “Mark, get a grip.

This simple four-word response has gone down well with the B6 faithful, further improving the ex-right back’s status as a cult hero in the Midlands.

Aston Villa got back on track vs Fulham

Villa needed to beat Fulham, and they did exactly that.

With fixtures against Feyenoord and Burnley coming up, the season could be set to change completely if another two positive results can be secured.

This would represent four consecutive wins, following six without, something that could extinguish the bad feeling around the Villans.

Elmohamady will be delighted by this for many reasons, but one will likely be the lack of negative noise from the likes of Goldbridge on social media moving forward.

There is no benefit from these sort of opinions from elsewhere, Emery and his Villa squad must now focus on themselves and no one else.
