Unai Emery to instantly land new job amid remarkable Aston Villa sack suggestion
Aston Villa’s search for a first Premier League win of the season goes on.
Villa’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland was another poor performance from Unai Emery’s men, who finally scored their first goal of the campaign.
Villa’s poor start to the season sees them sit third from bottom in the Premier League following three draws in five games.
Unai Emery looked extremely frustrated on the sideline at the Stadium of Light as his side failed to break down ten-man Sunderland.
Villa fans are still fully behind the Spaniard, but the inevitable question over his future has already been raised.

Unai Emery would have ‘new job by the end of today’
Emery stormed down the tunnel before full-time at Sunderland, with fans speculating he could be finished as manager.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday, Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent were discussing Emery’s position at Villa and praised how he has been successful under financial restraints.
When asked if he should be sacked, Bent was clear that it’s not something Villa fans would want and that Emery would be almost irreplaceable.
He said: “If he goes, who comes in after him? He’s one of those managers where, if he becomes available, he’ll have a job by the end of today.”
Bent is right in saying Villa would be rash to get rid of Emery now, considering how much he has achieved since being in charge.
Unai Emery is still one of Europe’s elite managers
Emery has been a revelation since becoming Aston Villa manager in November 2022.
Villa have been a perennial European contender since his appointment, and he has proven how much of an asset he is at Villa Park.
Aston Villa record | Unai Emery |
Games in charge | 146 |
Wins | 76 |
Winning percentage | 52% |
While Emery has been criticised by some, he has brought the club from relegation trouble to Champions League football in no time.
If the clubs were to sack Emery, clubs from all over Europe would be queuing up to appoint him, given his track record.
Villa need to be patient and let the Spaniard work through the current issues, before pulling the trigger on a decision they would regret.
