Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes will anger many after what they said about Jadon Sancho at Aston Villa
Aston Villa’s supporters are eagerly awaiting their next game against Everton.
Harvey Elliott could make his Aston Villa debut after the playmaker arrived on loan from Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-old was joined by Jadon Sancho through the door, as Unai Emery looks to reignite his attack following a slow start to the season.
Morgan Rogers has been full of praise for Sancho and Elliott, but Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes think differently.

Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes think Jadon Sancho is a ‘weird signing’
Aston Villa supporters were left disappointed with the signing of Sancho, but have been willing to give the winger the benefit of the doubt after struggling in the past few seasons.
The 25-year-old has yet to get up to speed since joining Manchester United for £70million in 2021.
Sancho scored 16 goals and registered 20 assists for Dortmund in the 2020/21 season, yet struggled on loan with Chelsea last season.

Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes have become the latest pundits to doubt the move.
Speaking on The Overlap, Carragher said: “I think he’s okay, but I don’t understand what his thing is. I’ve been critical of Marcus Rashford, but if I picture him playing well, I can picture his pace and shooting.
“I don’t know what Sancho’s thing is. Every player has something, but I can’t think in my head what he does. I’ve never seen it in my life. I haven’t.”
Scholes also added, “Unai Emery might be good for Sancho, but I do think it’s a weird signing.
“Villa Park is a massive pitch, and he’s got a lack of pace and a lack of legs. He’s got some brilliance, but what’s his real strength? I don’t really know.”

Jadon Sancho can replicate Marcus Rashford at Aston Villa
Marcus Rashford arrived at Aston Villa with a point to prove and has come out the other side at a better club than United in Barcelona.
There is no reason why Sancho can’t replicate his ex-Man United teammates’ success at Villa Park.
The Red Devils have a reputation for ruining players’ careers, whereas Emery has developed a theme of reviving them.
On his day, Sancho has shown that he can offer something different.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t shown his quality over the last five years, but Emery will offer the winger more freedom, and the Spaniard has shown in the past that he can help players get back to their best.
Aston Villa fans will be delighted to revisit this if Sancho returns to his very best.
