Morgan Rogers reveals what is most ‘exciting’ about Aston Villa’s deadline day signings
Aston Villa have started the season poorly, having not scored in any of their opening three games.
The 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace has sent alarm bells ringing at Villa Park, but Unai Emery has had to deal with a lot during the transfer window.
Emi Martinez failed to leave Villa, with Manchester United opting to sign a different goalkeeper, and Ezri Konsa’s opening day red card left Villa with an unfamiliar backline
Morgan Rogers was excellent last season, and despite being linked with moves away from the club, he has stayed at Villa Park and is ready to take the team to the next level.
After being called up to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel, Rogers has spoken about Villa’s new signings and shares how Villa can rectify their poor start.

Morgan Rogers excited to play with Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott
Villa’s deadline day was by far the busiest they have been all summer, signing England stars Harvey Elliott and Jadon Sancho.
Rogers was full of praise for his new teammates, having already played with Elliott in the England youth setup.
Rogers said: “It’s just exciting, especially to play with English players who have also got something to prove in the sense that they want to be in the England squad themselves.
“I think they’d help as not only would they improve Villa, but they’d help themselves. They bring creativity, they get fans off their seats and ultimately, that’s exciting.”
Rogers won the PFA Young Player of the Year award for 2024/25, after helping Aston Villa to a sixth-placed finish.

Morgan Rogers believes Villa can turn things around quickly
Rogers is full of praise for Unai Emery, and has full faith that Villa can turn things around quickly.
“It hasn’t been easy but it’s only been three games. We know what our level is, we know good we are, and we know how good we can be so it’s nothing to worry about.
“It’s still something to look at to improve and to see that we aren’t quite to our level. You get punished in the league no matter who you play but we’ll soar up the table soon, there’s no doubt about it.’
Aston Villa have a relatively favourable run in the Premier League, which includes games against two of the promoted teams in the next four matches.
Villa fans will be hoping that their new signings hit the ground running as they look to change their early season fortunes.
