Aston Villa’s post transfer window plans revealed with two new contracts next
Aston Villa had a surprisingly hectic end to the transfer window with plenty of incomings.
Jadon Sancho joined on loan from Manchester United, which caused a mix-up between the two sides.
Should the winger have agreed to a permanent move, it could have allowed Emi Martinez to join Ruben Amorim’s side, but the Argentine is now stuck on the books at Villa Park.
With the window now shut, Unai Emery’s plans have now changed, with plenty of time for organisation thanks to the international break.

Aston Villa to extend Matty Cash and Pau Torres’ contracts
Harvey Elliott also joined Aston Villa on loan from Liverpool, with an obligation to buy for £35million, which concluded their transfer business.
Focus is again switching towards extending players’ contracts for Monchi and his team.
Matty Cash attracted interest from Nottingham Forest this summer, but Villa were keen to keep him.
Stat per 90 (2024/25) | Matty Cash |

Chances created | 0.48 |
Dribble success (%) | 54.3 |
Tackles won | 1.39 |

Now, according to The Athletic, Emery is planning on extending the contracts of Cash and Pau Torres.
Villa were keen to extend key players’ contracts throughout the summer, with Boubacar Kamara one of those prioritised.
Jacob Ramsey also looked set to extend his stay with Aston Villa before the Villans elected not to extend and offloaded him to Newcastle.
It’s important that Torres and Cash put pen to paper, given Emery’s weakened side and the fact that they won’t be able to spend on new players until January.
Both have had their moments where they have slipped up, but have also shown great leadership and will help bring Villa back to their best in the coming weeks.

Ezri Konsa could be next to sign new contract
Ezri Konsa is currently on just £75,000 a week, which is low compared to the likes of Lucas Digne, who is on £120,000.
The England international has put in consistently strong performances for the Villans over the years and deserves a new contract.
He currently has three years remaining on his contract, but given how incomparable his wages are to his fellow teammates, it wouldn’t take much to convince him to sign elsewhere.
