‘Desperation’ – Aston Villa fans fume over what’s been claimed about Jadon Sancho
Aston Villa look set to sign Jadon Sancho on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
The winger has seen his gametime dwindle in recent seasons, and Chelsea paid not to activate his buy option after he spent time on loan with the Blues last season.
Man United are hoping to sign Emi Martinez after the Argentine refused to play against Crystal Palace, but Unai Emery is hoping to make the best of a difficult situation.
Sancho has been linked with Aston Villa throughout the summer, but supporters aren’t happy as the conditions of his loan move are revealed.

Fans frustrated as Aston Villa are set to pay 80% of Jadon Sancho’s wages
Aston Villa have had a frustrating summer transfer window, with minimal incomings.
Important players such as Jacob Ramsey have left Villa Park, and they haven’t been replaced, which has left supporters pessimistic.
Form on the pitch has reflected their lack of transfer activity, with Aston Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace a particular eye-opener.
Despite closing in on a rare breakthrough this summer, supporters have been left frustrated with the news that Sancho is joining.
Emery’s side have agreed a loan deal with Man Utd for Sancho, which includes a loan fee, and they will pay 80 per cent of the player’s wages, according to Florian Plettenberg on X.
In response, one supporter wrote, “Emery is going to have to use all his wizardry on this one.”
Sancho has been poor since joining Man United for £73million in 2021, and there are concerns that the Red Devils are ripping the Villans off with the deal.
Career stats | Jadon Sancho |
Appearances | 285 |
Goals | 70 |
Assists | 84 |
He has had two unsuccessful loans with Chelsea and Dortmund in the last two seasons, which has left clubs unwilling to take a punt on the winger.
Jadon Sancho can rediscover his form from 2020
On his day, Sancho has shown that he can offer something different.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t shown his quality over the last five years, but Emery will offer the winger more freedom, and the Spaniard has shown in the past that he can help players get back to their best.
Aston Villa showed with Marcus Rashford last season that they can be a platform for unwanted players, and supporters will hope that Sancho can replicate his former teammate.
The Villans will be paying a possible £200,000 for the 25-year-old, which is a huge risk, but should he provide 16 goals and 20 assists as he did in the 2020/21 season, supporters won’t complain.
