Aston Villa want to beat Tottenham to striker who is just like Thierry Henry

Aston Villa are ready to make some last-minute signings before the transfer deadline at 7pm.

Aston Villa are yet to score this season, and will be eyeing up a move for an attacker today.

Aston Villa’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace has shown that Unai Emery is still looking to add firepower to his squad, with Villa having an underwhelming transfer window to date.

Evann Guessand’s transfer from Nice is the only attacking reinforcement that Villa have made, with Emery being dealt a further blow as Marco Asensio is set for a move to Fenerbahce.

Randal Kolo Muani linked with Villa switch

According to reports from L’Equipe, Kolo Muani is now set to move to England, with Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa all interested in the forward.

Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to offload Kolo Muani, and a return to Juventus had been the most likely solution throughout the window.

However, after failing to agree terms with Juventus, the Champions League winners look set to negotiate with the three English clubs exclusively.

Kolo Muani moved to PSG for £76.4m in 2023, but failed to stamp his mark on the team, and was sent out to Juventus on loan last campaign.

He has an extremely prolific goal record, and at just 26 years old, Kolo Muani is starting to enter the prime of his career.

With Newcastle and Tottenham also requiring extra presence in their forward line, it could be a tricky deal for Villa to get over the line.

‘Hallmarks of Thierry Henry’s game’ – Kolo Muani bears similar style to Premier League legend

In 2023, Kolo Muani was likened to France legend Henry after his excellent season at Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga website said: “Kolo Muani also has a languid dribbling style and immense turn of speed that were hallmarks of Henry’s game – especially at a young age. He bears similar strength on the ball and a cheekiness to his play that will leave Bundesliga defenders both in his wake and cutting frustrated figures.”

In 2022/23, Kolo Muani broke through on the continental stage, registering 37 goal contributions in 47 games for Frankfurt.

Whilst his move to PSG hasn’t been successful, his loan spell to Juventus during the second half of 2024/25 was, scoring 10 goals in 22 matches.

Having made 24 caps for France, Kolo Muani is an experienced forward with still a lot to prove, and that’s something Villa could really do with at this moment in time.
