Aston Villa want late deal to sign Newcastle attacker who has already scored this season
Aston Villa are scrambling on deadline day to get last-minute transfers over the line.
Jadon Sancho is closing in on a shock late move to Villa Park as Unai Emery continues his search for attacking reinforcements.
As well as incomings, a notable departure is also likely, with Emi Martinez rumoured to be joining Manchester United.
However, another attacking target for Villa has just emerged as they look to poach a forward from Newcastle.

Aston Villa target late move for Will Osula
Villa and Newcastle have already conducted business together this summer, with Jacob Ramsey leaving his boyhood club to join the Magpies.
Now, the two clubs that were in direct competition for a spot in the Champions League last season could be set to enter into further negotiations.
According to reports from Daily Mail’s Simon Jones on 1 September, Villa have shown late interest in Will Osula.
The striker has already scored this season in Newcastle’s chaotic 3-2 defeat against Liverpool, and now the 22-year-old could be on the move to B6.

Villa are said to be scouring the market to bolster Emery’s options in the final third, but they are restricted by PSR when it comes to what targets they could realistically bring to Villa Park.

Aston Villa must avoid panic buys
Whilst the PSR rules are ultimately not fit for purpose, Villa certainly have not helped themselves when it comes to some of their financial decisions.
At this stage of the window, Villa would be better off saving the money they would have spent on Osula and waiting either until January or next summer to land a target they actually want.
Osula ultimately would come with the label of a panic buy, and Monchi and Co. would be better off without him as opposed to desperately signing anyone with a pair of boots to play up front.
Emery may not even want the player due to a proposed deal having come around this quickly, and signing Osula just for the sake of it would only hamper the club’s PSR further.
