Aston Villa begin late talks to sign Man United outcast but deal hinges on another player leaving
Aston Villa could be one of the Premier League’s busiest teams on deadline day.
Although Liverpool are linked with signing Morgan Rogers, it seems unlikely Villa’s main man will be allowed to leave Villa Park so close to the deadline.
Instead, Unai Emery, who is reacting to Villa’s 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday, wants to add new players before the window closes.
The Villains clearly believe they’re lacking firepower on the flanks with Emery now targeting a new wide-man.

Aston Villa negotiating Jadon Sancho transfer
Unlikely to be the Villains’ first choice target earlier in the window, with time against them, Villa are targeting Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
That’s according to Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth, who claims the once-European champions have opened talks with the Red Devils to sign the 25-year-old.
Sancho has been ostracised at Old Trafford for a while. The English winger spent last season on loan with Chelsea but failed to make an impact, resulting in the Blues refusing to make his switch permanent.
Although Ruben Amorim has already stated he is prepared to welcome the forward back into the fold, its fair to assume the Portuguese manager’s preference would be to see the back of him.
Villa’s move for Sancho depends on whether or not the Red Devils can finalise an agreement to sign Emi Martinez.
Martinez has emerged as a target for United, who feel their goalkeepers need upgrading. While fans won’t want to see the back of the Argentina No.1, Emery will turn to Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens as a replacement.
Last chance saloon for Sancho following failed Chelsea spell
Once viewed as the best young winger in Europe during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s potential saw Manchester United pay over £70 million for him four years ago.
Things haven’t turned out the way the Red Devils, or the player, would’ve wanted, though. Scoring just 12 goals in over 80 appearances for United, Sancho has failed to develop as expected.
Rejected by Chelsea despite an improved period of form, the former Manchester City academy graduate now faces a crossroads in his career.
Failure to secure a move before the deadline would likely see Sancho sidelined for the season, but should Villa get his signature, the pressure to perform will be on, as there are only so many chances a player can be afforded in the Premier League.
