Marseille have just set their asking price for Aston Villa target Adrien Rabiot
Aston Villa have learned what it will take to prise Adrien Rabiot away from Marseille before the transfer window shuts at 7pm on Monday.
With deadline day fast approaching, Unai Emery has only made two notable signings so far; the £30m deal for Evann Guessand, and backup goalkeeper Marco Bizot’s arrival.
Villa have made a proposal for Marseille midfielder Rabiot to join them, with the 30-year-old being placed on the transfer list following a physical altercation with teammate Jonathan Rowe.
However, Villa aren’t the only club interested in the French international, with Italian giants AC Milan also in the running.

Marseille seek £13million for Adrien Rabiot
New AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has made it clear that Rabiot is his first choice, leaving Villa as underdogs for his transfer.
According to Football Italia, Marseille want £13m for Rabiot, with AC Milan sent to hold another round of talks with mother/agent, Veronique Rabiot.
Emery previously worked with Rabiot from 2016-2018 at Paris-Saint-Germain, and the Spaniard has always been full of praise when discussing the French midfielder.
Rabiot has an elite CV, having made 53 caps for France and playing for some of Europe’s elite sides:
- Paris Saint-Germain (2011-2019)
- Juventus (2019-2024)
- Marseille (2024 – now)
AC Milan’s progress in the Rabiot deal spells bad news for Villa, yet they also have their eye on different targets.

Marco Asensio set for return as Lucas Paqueta transfer in doubt
Villa were favourites to sign Lucas Paqueta, yet Marco Asensio could return at the cost of the Paqueta and Rabiot deals.
Asensio is seen as a Paqueta alternative, having enjoyed a brilliant loan spell in the second half of the 2024/25 season.
Stat | Asensio |
Appearnces | 21 |
Goals | 8 |
Assists | 1 |
PSG want £17.3m for the Spanish midfielder which is much less than Paqueta’s transfer value.
With the deadline fast approaching, developments with Asensio’s deal could prove harmful to Paqueta and Rabiot’s transfers to B6.
