What PSG have demanded for Marco Asensio after Aston Villa submitted £12.9m offer
Marco Asensio is set to light up Villa Park once again as Aston Villa race against the clock to sign him.
Villa are set to have a hectic end to the summer window as they attempt to close multiple transfer deals.
Signing Lucas Paqueta from West Ham is an option the Villans are studying, while Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has made headlines for Villa in recent days.
However, Asensio’s return is an option that Villa wants to close as soon as possible. And with deadline day approaching, the Villans have accelerated their pursuit.

PSG wants £17.2m for Marco Asensio
Asensio is set to undergo a sensational return to Villa. This comes after he returned to PSG after an impressive half-season loan at the Villans.
His agent Jorge Mendes has been the brains behind Asensio’s transfer to Villa, and it looks like it could happen soon.
As reported by French outlet L’Equipe on Thursday, 28 August, Villa are close to reaching an agreement with PSG for Asensio.
The Premier League side have made an offer of around £12.9million for the 29-year-old. However, the Parisian outfit are still asking for £17.2m.
Despite this, their stances are not too far apart, and both parties are optimistic about reaching a positive outcome soon.
This could see Asensio arrive at Villa Park within hours and the Villans look to close the transfer before deadline day.

What will Marco Asensio’s arrival mean for Lucas Paqueta?
Paqueta emerged as an option for Villa to explore in recent days. However, his transfer could be derailed by the arrival of Asensio.
While the Spaniard has had shifts on the right wing, he is most comfortable in the midfield behind a striker. This is where the Brazilian also thrives.
As a result, it seems unlikely that the Villans will sign both this summer. Not only would it be difficult to satisfy both parties, price is also an issue.
- Paqueta could cost Villa around £60m to sign
- Signing Asensio would be over £40m cheaper
With Villa’s movements still restricted by Premier League PSR rules, it seems nearly impossible for the Villans to sign both.
As a result, with Asensio on track to complete his transfer in a matter of hours, Villa fans can bid farewell to Paqueta for now.
