Aston Villa told to tear up Marco Asensio deal in front of PSG’s eyes despite agreement

Aston Villa could be about to drop everything to ensure that they can secure the permanent signing of Marco Asensio before Monday’s deadline.

The winger had a big impact during his loan spell at Villa Park last season, and he has been edging towards a return to the second city over the last few weeks.

Villa have had personal terms agreed with Asensio for some time now, as they bid to bring the Spanish star back to the Premier League.

Unai Emery’s side have had a stuttering start to the season, and the return of a player who was such a strong option for them last term could be the perfect way to unlock their attacking capabilities.

Aston Villa make Marco Asensio a priority after £12.9m bid

Villa have now submitted a £12.9million bid for Asensio, as they work hard to try and agree a deal with PSG.

The Parisiens are still holding out for a fee of £17.2m, but an agreement is thought to be growing ever closer between the two parties.

Both sides are optimistic that a positive outcome will be reached soon, which will be hugely important to the Villans, given the need for urgency ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes that Monchi and Co. should be putting all other potential deals on hold in order to get their move for Asensio over the line.

“If I were Villa, I’d make Asensio the number one priority,” King said.

“Whatever is holding the deal up, I’d want to get that cleared up.

“Villa need to be clear, and if PSG don’t like it, then move on to somebody else.

“I think Asensio would be a big signing, because he’s a class act.”

Aston Villa should up their offer for Marco Asensio

The signing of Asensio could be a pivotal moment for Villa, given the quality that he can provide.

With that in mind, they should surely be looking to up their offer to meet PSG’s demands as quickly as possible.

Their financial constraints have not made business easy this summer, but in this instance, they are chasing a player who has already made a proven impact and fits in well within Emery’s squad.

For the sake of £5m, the Villans should be looking to up their offer to align with PSG’s demands, and if they can manage that, then there would be nothing standing in the way of a deal.
