Nicolas Jackson preference shared for Chelsea exit after Aston Villa approach

Nicolas Jackson has been mooted for a move to Aston Villa this summer.

Summer recruitment hasn’t been overly strong for Aston Villa this summer, with Evann Guessand’s arrival the only one that could take them to the next level.

Signing another out-and-out striker has been a priority for Unai Emery, and with Aston Villa linked with Chelsea forward Jackson, things were starting to look as though it was going to piece together.

Now, a new update has emerged on his future away from Chelsea, with the striker’s preferred destination revealed.

Nicolas Jackson open to Bayern Munich move as talks ongoing

Jackson would be a superb addition for Aston Villa, but if Emery is to bring him to Villa Park, they will have to fight off interest from Bayern Munich.

As per Ben Jacobs on X, the Bundesliga giants remain in negotiations with Chelsea over his transfer, with Jackson said to be keen on the move.

The report adds that four other clubs are in discussions with the Blues over a potential transfer, with an exit expected before the 1 September transfer deadline.

Since making the move from Villarreal, where he spent time with Emery, Jackson has scored 30 times for Chelsea across all competitions.

Thirteen of those arrived last season, with six assists also to his name in what was a fruitful campaign for the 24-year-old.

How much would Nicolas Jackson cost Aston Villa?

At this stage, a move to Villa is looking unlikely, though if a deal did materialise, it would be costly.

Chelsea were originally looking for around £80million for his sale, though as the window goes on, there is every chance that it has come down slightly.

Via Capology, Jackson earns £100,000 per week at Stamford Bridge, which would put him on a level with some of Aston Villa’s top earners.

Only four days remain in the transfer window, with the situation likely to be clarified this weekend.
