Aston Villa open talks to sign striker likened to Thomas Muller, but there’s a stumbling block
Aston Villa have no time to waste in the final few days of the ongoing transfer window.
The Villans look to be in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, with Ollie Watkins being linked with a move away from Villa Park.
Unai Emery wants Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, but it remains to be seen whether the Senegal international will want to move to the Lions, as several other top teams are also interested in him.
While the B6 club have shifted their focus to other targets, there appears to be an obstacle in their pursuit of attacking reinforcements.

Maximilian Beier can be signed after Aston Villa sell
Villa need to sell first due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) before they can sign Borussia Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier, according to Patrick Berger.
The Sky Sports journalist has reported on X on 27 August that the Villans are very interested in the 22-year-old, preparing an opening bid of around £30million.
It’s been claimed that the Bundesliga outfit have been informed about the Lions’ intentions, and talks have already started with the centre-forward at Villa Park.
The Germany international, who has been likened to ex-Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller by the official Bundesliga website, has already rejected a proposal from Brentford, and it will be interesting to see whether the B6 club can convince him to move to the Premier League.

Unai Emery must be fuming due to FFP at Villa Park
Villa have already had to sell Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle United to balance their books after signing Evann Guessand from OGC Nice.
The Villans haven’t spent much money this summer, with the other signings being Marco Bizot and Yasin Ozcan, who has immediately been sent to Anderlecht on loan.
There is concern among fans that Morgan Rogers could leave Villa for Tottenham, with the North London outfit reportedly making him one of their top priority targets.
- TSG Hoffenheim sold Beier to Dortmund for around £25m last summer.
- The young striker has four years left on his current contract.
- For Germany, the centre-forward has made four appearances.
Villa wanted to sign Beier last summer, but he ultimately joined Dortmund from Hoffenheim.
The Lions brought the likes of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio on loan in the winter transfer window after selling Jhon Duran, but they now have a relatively weaker squad.
It’s a shame to see the B6 club struggling to make progress on their achievements from last season, as their hands seem to be tied in the ongoing transfer window due to the Premier League’s restrictions.
