‘Ridiculous’ – Gabby Agbonlahor rages at what Aston Villa have failed to do
Gabby Agbonlahor is less than impressed with the recruitment at Aston Villa.
Aston Villa’s 1-0 defeat to Brentford is a showcase of how poor things have been on the pitch so far this summer, though things haven’t been much better off of it.
Just three new arrivals have checked in at Villa Park, with Evann Guessand’s arrival at Aston Villa the only eyebrow-raising transfer made by the Villans.
However, it isn’t necessarily the business that Villa have done that has angered Agbonlahor, but instead, the business they have failed to do so far.

Aston Villa yet to replace summer outgoings
PSR is a huge talking point in football, and many highlighted that as the reason behind Jacob Ramsey’s departure to Newcastle.
However, Emery is yet to see his side bring someone in to replace the Englishman, which is the same argument Agbonlahor has made when it comes to Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio.
The latter has been linked with a return to Aston Villa, though that didn’t stop Agblonhaor raging at the lack of transfer activity at Villa Park, alongside their “ridiculous” wage structure.
Writing via X, he said: “Villa need to replace Rashford, Asensio and Ramsey, or I see a very frustrating season.
“The club need to review the wages they are paying too, as our wage bill is ridiculous! We have a very good starting 11 if the manager plays the right team!”
What business could Aston Villa do this week?
Just five days remain in the transfer window, and if Aston Villa are to satisfy the concerns raised by Agbonlahor, they need to act fast.
Asensio could very well make his return to Aston Villa if a deal can be struck with PSG.
From a defensive point of view, Jaydee Canvot is still heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, and that is another deal that could beat the deadline.
As for exits, Villa will undoubtedly be keen to offload a handful of other fringe players, with Emi Buendia one of the most likely to leave.
