Aston Villa fans will be livid after what Bertrand Traore did in Brentford loss
Bertrand Traore is somewhat of a cult hero for Aston Villa supporters.
The Burkina Faso international netted two in two matches in April 2023 after returning early from a loan spell, helping to secure UEFA Europa Conference League football for the Villans.
That was a precursor of what was to come for Unai Emery‘s side as they would get into the Champions League and give a great showing last season.
Traore made 55 appearances for the Villa Park outfit before leaving the B6 club in February 2024 to join Villarreal on a free transfer.

It would have been a huge surprise to see Traore celebrating Brentford’s opener, which was the only goal in the contest, after Aston Villa survived a VAR check for a second.
The 29-year-old took to his Instagram story to post Dango Ouattara’s goal with two clapping hands emojis.
However, it makes sense considering that the Bees ace is from the same country as Traore, and that explains the Burkinese flag that came after the other emojis.
Aston Villa need to get going this season
Villa supporters will be more concerned with how their season has started than Traore’s Instagram antics.
Emery and Co. want to return to the Champions League after missing out on the final day of last season and having to settle for a place in the Europa League this season.
However, their dismal start to the campaign does not bode well for those hopes, with a 0-0 draw against Newcastle and the loss to Keith Jackson’s side.

The Villans have been hampered in the transfer market by Profit and Sustainability regulations and UEFA squad cost rules, but they should still be capable of beating those teams, without flashy new additions.
Emery needs to oversee a quick turnaround in form; otherwise, it could be a very long season for the Spaniard and his supporters if they cannot rise up the table.
If they want to get back amongst the European elite, they need to start getting victories on the board, and very sharpish, or they will have absolutely no chance of achieving their ambitions.
