Morgan Rogers sends emotional message as Aston Villa agree teammate sale
Morgan Rogers has spoken out after a turbulent summer window at Aston Villa.
The Villans have been forced to be diligent in the transfer market, resulting in many exits at this stage of the window, with Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle for £40million being a key example.
This has also seen Unai Emery and Co. move on big-wage flops like Philippe Coutinho and Leander Dendoncker, also moving on this summer.
Even with this being the case, the B6 club have managed to keep hold of Morgan Rogers despite high levels of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
With less than two weeks to go until the window ends, an exit deal could still be possible for the Englishman, but with that yet to be done, the attacking midfielder has been left to react to another one of his teammates leaving this summer.

Rogers speaks out after Aston Villa exit
There is no hiding from the fact that Rogers was poor for Villa against Newcastle on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The England international showed far from his best and will be hopeful of a much better outing next time out against Brentford on Saturday (23 August).
There will be hope that he can do so, especially as the Villans’ squad continues to get weaker as more exit-bound transfers are confirmed.
The most recent of which has seen Leon Bailey join Roma on loan, despite an initial flight delay, with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
After also losing Ramsey earlier in the week, it is clear that emotions are running high among the team at Bodymoor Heath right now.
This has seen Rogers reach out to Bailey on Instagram (20 August), to say: “Go and rip it up my guy,” accompanied by a crying emoji, summing up his feeling about this latest departure.
Aston Villa won’t regret Leon Bailey exit
Although it may have left some players frustrated in B6, there is no doubt that an exit for the 28-year-old makes total sense for all parties.
This comes after Bailey failed to hit the heights last season, despite contributing to 27 goals in the 2023/24 season as Champions League qualification was confirmed at Villa Park.
Stat | 2023/24 | 2024/25 |
Appearances | 52 | 38 |
Goals | 14 | 2 |
Assists | 13 | 4 |
With that tied into the fact that the Jamaican is on a reported £120,000-per-week at Villa, there is little reason to justify that spend after his lack of output.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the claret and blue outfit can cope without the former Bayer Leverkusen man and how it will impact the morale of the squad in the Midlands.
