Aston Villa chief hits out as Morgan Rogers transfer news explodes at Tottenham
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has been the subject of heavy speculation this summer.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar breakout campaign in the Premier League, and Rogers was rewarded with the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea had been linked with moves for Rogers, but Unai Emery and Co. have held their resolve so far.
That stance is not expected to change in the last few weeks of the transfer window, especially after a new message from a club chief.

Damian Vidagany hits out over Morgan Rogers to Tottenham links
Tottenham have reportedly made contact over Rogers, as they look set to miss out on Eberechi Eze to arch-rivals Arsenal.
However, Damian Vidagany seemed to hit back over those links in a fiery social media rant on Thursday.
Villa’s director of football operations took to X on 21 August to call out the reports surrounding Rogers’ future at the B6 club.
He wrote: “General rule: When I want to know the news, I go to sources that I trust, I go to the many people that is able to do fact-checking or try to. Sources with agenda, clickbait or not fact-checking intention just deserve to be ignored, Nothing else. That is your power.”
While he does not specifically mention it, considering that the Rogers speculation is the only major Villans update to drop, it would seem that the two are correlated.

Is Morgan Rogers set to stay at Aston Villa?
Judging from the language and the passion in Vidagany’s rant, it seems certain that they plan to keep hold of Rogers this summer, regardless of any offers that come in.
He was a crucial asset for Emery last season, notching 14 goals and 16 assists in all competitions after joining from Middlesbrough last summer in an initial £8million deal.
While he has attracted significant interest, Villa will seemingly not be bullied into selling their star man, and they do not need to either.
That is because they have avoided a Profit and Sustainability breach after selling their Women’s team to a consortium including V Sports.
Their position on UEFA’s squad cost rules is a bit more shaky, but they still do not want to sell any first-team stars and weaken Emery’s side.
Rogers will still be a Villa player when 2 September comes around, unless something completely crazy happens.
