Transfer fee Aston Villa could now pay for Marco Asensio as personal terms agreed
Aston Villa appear to have just taken a major step forward in their bid to secure a return move for Marco Asensio in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
The winger enjoyed an encouraging loan spell in B6 in the second half of last season, but the Villans ultimately decided against trying to pursue a permanent deal at the time.
Villa have reaffirmed their interest in Asensio over the last few days, as it has become increasingly clear that he has no place at PSG in the upcoming campaign.
Unai Emery and Co. have found fresh additions hard to come by so far this summer, but their efforts look as if they may be about to be rewarded on this occasion.

Aston Villa to secure £17m Asensio deal as personal terms agreed
Villa took a major step towards re-signing Asensio on Tuesday, when news broke that they had opened talks with PSG regarding a potential move.
The Spanish star has just one year remaining on his current contract in the French capital, and it appeared that both a permanent or a loan move could become available to the Villa Park outfit.
- Asensio struck eight goals in 21 games for Villa last term, including three from four Champions League outings
However, a permanent deal now looks to be within Villa’s grasp, with Asensio already having agreed personal terms, according to Sky Sports Switzerland’s Sacha Tavolieri.
The wideman, who is viewed as a key transfer priority by Monchi, has agreed a three-year deal with the second city side, and they are expected to submit their initial offer to PSG within the next few days.
The reigning European champions have made it clear to Asensio that they will not stand in his way of a move if a suitable offer is received, and it is believed that it may only take around £17.2million to satisfy their demands.

Villa will have big expectations for Asensio
Villa will have had to work hard to accommodate Asensio’s wage demands, and there will be big expectations attached to his return, providing a deal gets over the line.
He hit eight goals from just 21 games in all competitions last term, and those stats could easily have been even more impressive had he not missed two penalties in one game against Crystal Palace.
- Asensio has made 73 appearances in the Champions League and has 15 goals to his name
- He is also a four-time winner of the competition
- He made 284 appearances for Real Madrid across a seven-year stay with Los Merengues
The former Real Madrid star is hugely decorated and has ample Champions League experience for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
After an impressive stint last term, the Villans will be expecting him to come in and produce for them consistently in the big moments of games.
A deal for below £20m would be an exceptional piece of business for Villa, but there will certainly be plenty of pressure on Asensio to come in and produce the goods.
