Stan Collymore predicts where Aston Villa and Wolves finish in 2025/26 Premier League

Stan Collymore has placed Aston Villa in his Premier League prediction for the upcoming season.

The Villans are preparing to kickstart their campaign as they look set to welcome Newcastle United to Villa Park on 16 August.

In what will be the first opening day fixture in B6 since 2017, Villa have the chance to start their year on a positive note after missing out on Champions League qualification last time out.

Unai Emery and Co. will be hoping that a place back in Europe’s elite competition might be on the cards as former claret and blue ace Collymore shares his forecast for the new season.

Collymore backs Aston Villa to shine in 2025/26

It is no secret how frustrating and damaging it was to miss out on a top-five finish last season, especially on the final day of action.

There is arguments to be had that Thomas Bramall had a large impact at Old Trafford to snatch a win away from Villa. Not that fans are still holding on to that…

With that being said, there will be genuine hopes that this time around that it won’t come down to the final day to secure a place among the elite.

Emery will hope that with the recent addition of Evann Guessand and potential further signings, this won’t be the case in 12 months’ time.

This sentiment has been echoed by ex-striker Collymore, who has shared his prediction for the final table for the upcoming Premier League season.

The 54-year-old has backed the Villans to finish fifth in the table, beating Newcastle, Manchester United and Tottenham to a potential Champions League place.

Aston Villa must improve next season

Last campaign, there was a huge shift after the January window, which ultimately made a top-five finish a possibility in claret and blue.

The introduction of Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford on loan in the winter window provided a much-needed boost up the table.

With that being said, the Villans can’t afford to wait until mid-way through the season to showcase their best form again this time around.

If Collymore’s prediction is to come to fruition, Emery needs the likes of Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Co. to perform from minute one when the campaign begins.
