Man City tipped to seek Morgan Rogers in shock Jack Grealish swap – Exclusive
This article includes exclusive comment from former Aston Villa scout Bryan King.
Aston Villa have been chasing the possibility of re-signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City this summer.
The England star swapped Villa Park for the Etihad Stadium back in 2021, but he now could be in line for a sensational return to his boyhood club ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Villa are part of a group of Premier League sides who are keen on Grealish, with the 29-year-old having seemingly been left with no way back at City after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens are hopeful of getting Grealish off their books this summer, and that could potentially see the stars align for the Villans to reunite with their former player.

Aston Villa could face a major decision if City want Morgan Rogers
Grealish undoubtedly played the best football of his career in his final few seasons at Villa, and it could be an ideal move to revitalise his career.
There will be no shortage of suitors for the attacker now that his relationship with Guardiola has completely broken down, but there are none that could provide such an emotional element for the star.
With that in mind, it arguably feels like the perfect ending to the saga for all parties if the Villans could agree a deal to bring their former academy graduate back to B6.
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes that an awkward situation could be on the horizon for Unai Emery and Co. if they look to push forward in a move for Grealish.
“I don’t think there’ll be a shortage of clubs in for Grealish,” King said.
“He was well-liked at Aston Villa, and he is a local boy.
“He earned Villa a lot of money at the time, which they used to rebuild. They brought in Emery and also several new players.
“But it all depends on what Manchester City want. If they want a player involved in that deal and if that player is Morgan Rogers, then that would also make it a little bit difficult because you don’t want to lose your best player.”

Villa woudn’t trade Rogers for Grealish
Bringing Grealish back would tick countless boxes for Villa, but they would surely have to think twice about the deal if City expressed a desire to take Rogers in the other direction.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season last term and is rapidly establishing himself as a player of top-class quality. He has been linked with an exit on plenty of occasions recently, and City could be about to leave Emery’s side in a horrible situation this time around.
If they showed an interest in using Grealish as part of a swap deal to get Rogers, it would leave the Villans with an awkward choice between a current star with so much potential or an old one with so many memories.
In that situation, Villa would surely have to opt to follow their head rather than their heart, knowing that Rogers is simply too important for them to lose at the moment, and also that he could bring them huge money later down the line.
