Agbonlahor baffled by Rashford deal after Aston Villa transfer news – ‘Interesting’
Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United again this transfer window after an impressive loan spell at Aston Villa.
The Villans signed the 27-year-old from the Red Devils in the winter transfer window until the end of last season, and seemingly found his feet.
Unai Emery has wanted Rashford back at the Lions after relying on him ahead of Ollie Watkins on occasions in the previous campaign.
The England international’s return to Villa Park seems to be out of the question, but a baffling development has emerged.

Rashford set for Barcelona transfer as Agbonlahor questions Man United exit
Agbonlahor has praised Rashford for taking a pay cut to seal a move to Barcelona this summer.
The English forward will earn 15 per cent less than his usual salary at the La Liga outfit, who will cover his entire wages.
Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes played |
17 | 4 | 6 | 940 |
The former Villa forward wonders, though, how the 27-year-old is good enough to play for the Spanish giants but not the Red Devils and finds it interesting.
Agbonlahor wrote on X (20 July): “Fairplay to Rashford taking a pay cut to go and play first team football! Good enough for Barca but not Man United? Interesting!”
Aston Villa will be disappointed with Rashford transfer snub
It isn’t surprising to see Rashford opt to sign for Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window, but fans will still be left disappointed in B6.
The Man United forward’s form at Villa Park picked up after struggling for game time under Ruben Amorim, who seemed adamant to get rid of him this summer.
With the 27-year-old moving to the Spanish giants, the Lions arguably need to pursue alternative targets to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Marco Asensio was another player who had an impact at Villa after arriving on loan in the winter transfer window, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
The Villans are yet to make any significant additions to their team, and supporters will undoubtedly be worried about their prospects for the upcoming campaign.
While Emery has a decent record in the Europa League, he still needs some quality players to have the best chance of ending the trophy drought at Villa Park next year.
