Jacob Ramsey lined up for Aston Villa exit as transfer controversy explodes
Jacob Ramsey has struggled to reclaim a permanent spot in Aston Villa’s starting XI.
The Villa academy graduate was once a star player at the Birmingham outfit, and has already made 167 appearances despite his age.
However, injuries to the attacker have limited his game time in recent seasons, which has resulted in his appearances mainly coming from the bench.
As a result, there have been suggestions that Villa could sell Ramsey this summer, and these rumours are yet to disperse.

Nottingham Forest target Ramsey amid Gibbs-White saga
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest are facing a battle to keep hold of their best players.
Morgan Gibbs-White, who was vital to the East Midlands side’s amazing campaign last season, is at the centre of a controversial transfer saga.
Tottenham have looked to acquire the attacking midfielder and met his release clause last week.
However, Nottingham Forest have since halted the move, claiming their approach was “illegal”.
Nevertheless, the move could still transpire, with all parties looking to find a solution according to the Daily Mail (17 July).
With fears that Forest could lose another attacking player, the report claims that the East Midlands side are interested in Ramsey to help reinforce their squad.

Aston Villa should let Ramsey go this summer
Given Ramsey’s injury concerns, if Forest make a decent bid for the 24-year-old, Aston Villa should let him depart.
Unai Emery cannot afford to have a valuable asset like Ramsey in his squad, knowing that he is likely to miss a good chunk of the campaign.

Even in the 2024/25 season, when the attacker managed to stay relatively fit, he only picked up 11 goal contributions in all competitions.
Therefore, if Forest bid anything around £40 million for Ramsey, Emery should not think twice about accepting.
The funds from the transfer could then be used to sign a more consistent attacker at Villa Park who has no past injury issues.
