‘Aston Villa to set £25m limit for Rashford’ amid Man United demand – Exclusive

Aston Villa look to have set out their stall for a permanent move for Marcus Rashford.

The England international had a largely positive loan stint at Villa Park last season before returning to Manchester United at the end of his B6 deal.

Villa opted against making his deal permanent, largely due to the PSR concerns that loomed over NSWE in the early stages of the summer.

This could see the Villans make a move for the 27-year-old later in the window, with a top transfer limit now mooted in the Midlands.

Aston Villa want £25m Rashford deal at Man United

It feels highly unlikely that Unai Emery wouldn’t want to bring the forward back from the Red Devils if he had the chance before the new campaign.

That wasn’t possible in June as the claret and blue outfit were seemingly forced to wave goodbye to their £40million buy option for the Englishman.

It is clear that Monchi and Co. didn’t want to outlay that amount on the Old Trafford outcast, but with a move away from M16 looking highly likely, Villa could step in.

Former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen believes the B6 club could set their boundary to land Rashford, utilising add-ons to reach the fee that the Red Devils want.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “I saw him a few times at Villa, and he was a threat in behind. I still think he’s got more to do.

Can he make it at Aston Villa? Yes, I think he could, and yes, he could certainly lift Villa Park.

He seemed to be playing with a confident attitude there rather than being fed up of playing under Amorim. Emery managed to get a good response out of him.

Would he be a good signing for Aston Villa? Yes, I think he would. I think £25m-£30m is fair, then have add-ons that take that up closer to the £40m that Manchester United want.

I don’t think Villa will want to pay more than £25m for a player who is often going to be a substitute who can come on to change games.

Rashford could make late Aston Villa switch

It appears clear that Rashford is keen on a move to Barcelona, but that doesn’t leave Villa completely out of the running in the coming weeks.

The United man formed a hugely positive relationship with teammates like Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers at Villa Park, also working well under the guise of Emery.

As a result, this could make a return the ideal move for all parties, but it will ultimately depend on finances and if a fair agreement can be reached.
