‘John McGinn edges towards Aston Villa exit’ as transfer offer readied
John McGinn could be edging ever closer to an unexpected Aston Villa exit.
The Scottish international has been a key part of the Villans’ rise under Unai Emery, but it is now a genuine possibility that he could have played his final game in a claret and blue shirt.
Villa are understood to be facing interest from Everton in McGinn, who has two years left on his current contract in B6.
The second city outfit are understandably reluctant to lose their captain, but they must also be mindful that they may have to sell a few key players this summer.

Villa are lining up a loan move for Douglas Luiz
Talk of the Scot’s potential departure has come at the same time as Emery’s side being mooted with a potential move to bring Douglas Luiz back to Villa Park.
Juventus have set an asking price of £21million for the midfielder, which has prompted suggestions that Monchi and Co. could secure a sensational return for their former star.
The Villans had seemingly been dealt a blow by Juventus’ desire to include Luiz as part of a swap deal with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho.
However, Villa are now understood to be proposing a loan deal for the Brazilian, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato (8 July).
Serie A side Como are also keen on bringing Luiz in on loan, but at this stage, Juventus are understood to have a preference for a permanent deal, although a loan with the option to buy may also appeal.
If the Italian giants prove receptive to Villa’s advances, then that could have a telling impact on McGinn’s future.

Villa could look to sell McGinn if Luiz deal goes through
Villa may want to keep McGinn at the club right now, but that could easily change if they can finalise a deal for Luiz.

The 27-year-old has a silky left foot and possesses a level of quality which would undoubtedly see him as an upgrade to Emery’s current midfield options.
Given Villa’s PSR constraints, a significant sale is expected to come at some point this summer.
There has been plenty of speculation as to who that could potentially be, but with interest now mounting in McGinn, and a potential ready-made replacement waiting in the wings, it may make sense for them to take the opportunity to work towards balancing their books.
