Aston Villa news round-up: Emery has last laugh as all clear given for transfer
Aston Villa have been linked with a host of exciting transfers this summer.
It’s been a slow start to the transfer window for the Villains but things look set to heat up imminently.
Below, Aston Villa News rounds up the most prominent headlines over the last 24 hours.

Emery to make his move for Ferran Torres
Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has emerged as a key target for Aston Villa.
The Spanish striker played a key role in helping Barca to win La Liga, but it’s thought the Spanish champions may accept a reasonable bid for him.
Speaking exclusively to Aston Villa News, ex-Villa scout Bryan King said Unai Emery’s Spanish links could tempt Torres to Villa Park.
He said: “The promise of regular first-team football, working under a Spanish manager and Spanish coaching staff. Life at Villa would be quite enjoyable, I think, for Torres.”
Villa target Rodrigo De Paul ‘told to leave’ Atletico Madrid
Villa are also interested in Atletico Madrid’s midfield enforcer Rodrigo De Paul.
De Paul was part of Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad and has been a key figure for Diego Simeone’s side.
However, it has been suggested that De Paul has been told to exit the club this summer, as his contract expires next year and they don’t want to let him leave for free.

Emery gets the last laugh after Duran seals loan move
Last January, Unai Emery was embroiled in a tug-of-war with Jhon Duran.
Several clubs wanted to buy the Colombian striker, but Emery was doing all that he could to hold on him.
Ultimately, Duran forced through a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, but it hasn’t been plain sailing for him.
Duran has complained of being unsettled in the Middle East, and he has now been loaned to Fenerbahce for six months.
Aston Villa given the all-clear to sign Gabriel Sara
Gabriel Sara is expected to complete a transfer to Aston Villa soon after an impressive season in Turkey with Galatasaray.
Sara has had a few injury problems, but sports injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar says it wouldn’t be a risky signing.
| Appearances | Minutes Played | Goals | Assists |
| 43 | 3357 | 2 | 9 |
“He did have some ankle ligament problems, but that should not be a major issue,” he said.
Sara made 43 appearances for Galatasaray last season.
